Mouthguard cleaning spray

今回は、当院で販売しているマウスピース用スプレーのご紹介です。

For this post, we would like to showcase a spray used specifically for a mouthpiece.

こちらのスプレーは、マウスピースに直接スプレーするだけで、その場で除菌・洗浄ができる便利なアイテムです。内容量も130㎖とちょうどよく、外出時も持ち運びも可能です。清潔感のあるメディカルハーブの香りで、マウスピースの装着前後に使用することで清潔な状態を保つことができます。

This spray is simply applied directly to the mouthpiece, and it will then disinfect and clean the mouthpiece. The bottle contains 130ml, so the size is just right to carry around on the go. The spray has a fresh medical herb flavor, so it can be applied before and after wearing the mouthpiece.

マウスピースの汚れや雑菌は、口臭や虫歯・歯周病の原因になります。歯磨きと同じように、マウスピースも毎日洗浄し、清潔な口腔内を保ってください。

Bacteria build-up on a mouthpiece can lead to issues such as bad breath, cavities, and periodontal disease. Just as it is important to brush your teeth daily, cleaning your mouthpiece daily is the same.

Nightguard

無意識の歯ぎしり・食いしばりで、頭痛や顎の疲れを感じることはありませんか？

当院では1週間程度でナイトガードというマウスピースの作成が可能です。寝ている間につけることで、無意識な食いしばり・歯ぎしりを和らげることができます。

Have you ever suffered migraines or a sore jaw due to grinding and clenching of your teeth during your sleep? At our clinic, we can create a custom night guard mouthpiece in approximately one week. By using his night guard while you sleep, it will help you ease the grinding and clenching of your teeth.

歯ぎしり・食いしばりで噛む力はとても強く、一般的には自分の体重の2～5倍の力と言われています。無意識に強い力が加わり、頭痛や顎の痛みだけでなく、強く擦れて歯が削れる原因にもなります。そうなると、痛みやしみるといった症状が出て、おいしく食事ができないこともあります。

The force exerted when grinding or clenching your teeth is extremely strong and can be 2-5 times that of your own body weight. Such strong pressure will not only cause migraines and jaw soreness, but the strong grinding can also cause your teeth to wear down, leading to other issues such as pain and stinging of your teeth.

そこで、ナイトガードを使用し厚みの分だけ顎が開いている状態にすることで、リラックス状態に近い状態を保つことができます。

By using a night guard and keeping your jaw slightly opened, you can maintain a relaxed state when your mouth is closed.

作製の流れはとてもスムーズです。まずは来院時に型取りをし、約1週間後にお渡しとなります。この時に必要に応じて調整をしたり、お手入れの仕方や取り外しの説明を行います。専用のケースや洗浄スプレーもご希望でしたら購入可能ですので、早いスピードでナイトガードを使い始めることができます！

The process of creating a custom night guard is quite simple. First, a mold of your teeth will be taken and approximately one week later the mouthpiece will be completed. Necessary adjustments will then be made and instructions on using and caring for the night guard will be provided. A special case and cleaning products can be purchased as well.

New Logo Mat

入り口に、ロゴ入りのマットが届きました！

At the entrance of our clinic, a floor mat bearing our logo has been placed.

当院のロゴは、みなさまの「健康で美しい笑顔」を引き出すお手伝いをしたいという想いから、笑顔をイメージしたものになっています(^^)
エレベーターを降りてすぐ見えるところにありますので、次回ご来院の際にぜひチェックしてみてください。

The design of our logo is based on an image of a smile because that is exactly what we can to help our patients attain a beautiful and healthy smile. The floor mat is located just outside the elevator, please be sure to check it out on your next visit.

そして、患者様はあまり見る機会がないのですが、実は入り口のドア裏にもロゴを入れています！

さらに外から見られるように、3Fの窓のブラインドにもロゴがあります

In addition to the mat, you can find our logo from outside the building displayed on the windows of the third floor.

このロゴマークがどんどんとみなさまに認知され、より多くの患者様のお手伝いができたらと思います。

Mouthwash

今回は、当院でも販売している歯科専売洗口液「モンダミン　ハビットプロ」のご紹介です。

For this post, we would like to introduce the dental mouthwash “Mondahmin Habit Pro” which can only be purchased at dental clinics including ours.

洗口液はお口の中の刺激が強いと感じる方も多いかと思いますが、このハビットプロはノンアルコールの洗口液で刺激が少ないことが特徴です！そのため、お子様も使いやすい洗口液です。また、刺激は少ないものの天然ミントの香味でお口はスッキリします。薄める必要もなく、計量カップになっている本商品の蓋を使って簡単に使うことができます。

Many have the image of mouthwashes as being unbearably strong. However, Habit Pro does not contain alcohol therefore it is a much less irritating mouthwash. Even children can use it without feeling unpleasant. Although the mouthwash may not be as strong and irritating, it still has a natural mint flavor that will leave your mouth feeling refreshed. There is no need to dilute the mouthwash, and the cap of the bottle also serves as a convenient measuring cup.

この洗口液は3つの薬用成分が入っています。

CPC…原因菌を殺菌する殺菌成分で、歯垢の付着を防ぎます。

GK₂…歯茎の腫れや炎症を防ぐ抗炎症成分です。

TXA…歯肉炎による、歯茎の出血を防ぐ出血予防成分です。

There are 3 medical agents that are contained in the mouthwash:

CPC… A clinically proven germ-killing agent used to fight germs in your mouth.
GK2… An anti-inflammatory agent that prevents swelling and inflammation of the gums.
TXA… An agent that controls bleeding in the gums which is caused by gingivitis.

毎日歯磨きをする習慣はあるかと思いますが、実はお口の中に占める歯の面積はたった25％程度です。歯磨きで取り切れない汚れは洗口液などを用いて落とすしかありません。

インプラントや矯正中の方も使えるので、ご興味のある方はお声がけください。

Brushing your teeth is a habit which I’m sure everyone does every day; however, how many people realize that the teeth only occupy approximately 25% of your oral cavity? In fact, stains that cannot be removed by brushing alone, may be removed using mouthwash. It can be used by those with implants and those undergoing orthodontic treatment, so if you are interested, feel free to let us know.

Painless Dental Treatment

皆さんは歯医者さんでの治療に“痛い”というイメージはありませんか？

当院では患者様の痛みを少しでも軽減すべく、2種類の麻酔を用いて治療しています。

There must be many patients who imagine dental treatments to be painful.

At our dental clinic, two types of anesthetics are used to lessen the pain during treatment.

上…電動麻酔

下…表面麻酔

一つ目は表面麻酔というもので、針の麻酔を打つ前に術部の歯肉に塗るタイプの麻酔です。

The first is an ointment type (shown below) which is applied to the surgical area to numb it before injecting the anesthetic needle.

二つ目は電動麻酔で、電動でゆっくりと麻酔液を入れていく麻酔です。

この電動麻酔は3つの特徴で痛みを減らすことができます。

The second type (shown above) is an automated electronic type which injects exact amounts of anesthetic solution.

By using both anesthetic types, we can lessen the pain during treatments.
There are three features with the automated electronic type which reduces pain.

① 電動のため、麻酔液が一定の量ずつ入っていきます。いきなり多量の麻酔液が入ることはありません。

1. Anesthetic solution will be injected in exact amounts by the automated device. There is no concern for an excessive amount to suddenly be injected.

② 麻酔液は、特殊な機械で人肌程度に温めています。いきなり冷たい液が体内に入ることがないので、痛みを緩和しています。

2. The anesthetic solution is warmed to body temperature by a special machine, so there isn’t any pain from a cold liquid suddenly being injected.

※この機械で保管することで、麻酔液を人肌程度の温度に保っています。

③ とても細い針を使用しています。33G（ゲージ）という細さの針で、直径はたったの0.2㎜しかありません。下の写真は、シャーペンの芯と比較してみました！

3. A very fine 33G (gauge) needle which has a diameter of only 0.2 mm is used. The photo shows a comparison of the needle and the lead used for a mechanical lead pencil.

“歯医者さんは怖い”、“痛い”というイメージをお持ちの方も安心してご来院ください。

PMTC(Renamel Treatment)

前回はPMTCのエアフローについて紹介しました。今回は、エアフローの後から最後までの流れをご紹介します。

In the previous post, we described in detail the PMTC step involving Airflow. For this post, we will continue with the remaining steps.

エアフローで着色・膜汚れ落とし終えたのち、歯に対して負担をかけないペーストとシリコンカップを使用して、歯の表面を磨いていきます。

その後、しっかりと汚れを絡めとってくれるTepeフロスで、フロッシングします。

Following the Airflow cleaning, the next step involves polishing the surface of the teeth using a paste and silicon cap. Following that step, TePe dental floss is used to clean between the teeth. (Refer to the previous post where TePe floss was introduced)

そして一番重要な、歯と同じ成分のハイドロキシアパタイト配合のトリートメント材を使用して、しっかりと歯の表面をコーティング、保護していきます。最後に虫歯予防としてフッ素のお薬を塗布します。

Next, treatment comprised of particles of hydroxyapatite, a natural mineral found in the composition of teeth, are applied onto the teeth to restore, and smoothen the surface. The last step is to apply a coating of fluoride which will help prevent cavities.

その時に使用していくペーストがこちらです。

右側にあるペーストはリナメルというトリートメントペーストです。上にも書いたように、歯と同じ成分のナノ粒子ハイドロキシアパタイト配合で、汚れを落とすのではなく、汚れのつきにくいツルツルの歯にするという考えのもと作られました。歯がツルツルだと汚れが付きにくく、虫歯にもなりにくい口腔内環境を作ることができます。また、研磨目的の成分は無配合なので、歯を傷つけにくいという特徴があります。

On the right side of the first photo, you will see the treatment paste called Renamel, which again is comprised of particles of hydroxyapatite, a natural mineral found within our bodies. By applying this treatment onto tooth surfaces damaged by daily toothbrushing, it is possible to restore that surface damage. As a result, the surface of the teeth becomes smoother, and plaque and staining becomes less likely to occur, keeping the teeth clean and smooth.

PMTC(Cleaning)

前回紹介したPMTC（Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning）の各工程について、詳しく紹介していこうと思います。

PMTCの流れは、汚れの除去➡表面の研磨➡フロス➡トリートメント➡フッ素塗布となります。

In a series of posts, we are going to introduce in detail, each of the steps that go into Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning (PMTC). The five steps of PMTC are removing stains → surface polishing → dental floss → treatment application → fluorine coating.

今回は汚れの除去についてです。当医院では、エアフローと呼ばれる特別な機械で歯面の着色や膜汚れを落とします。ブラシと強い研磨剤を使用して落としていく一般的な保険のクリーニングとは違い、極力歯面を傷つけず行う点がエアフローの特徴です。

For this post, we will focus on the first step, removing stains.
At our clinic, a specialized instrument called Airflow is used to remove stains and discoloration from the surface of teeth. Unlike regular cleanings using strong abrasives and brushes, Airflow is capable of cleaning without damaging the surface of the tooth.

細かなパウダーを強力なジェット水流で歯に吹き付けるので、歯面の茶渋などの汚れはもちろん、細菌のかたまりであるバイオフィルムも隅々まで除去することができます。

Fine powder together with the pressure of water spray is used to remove stains on the surface of teeth, in addition to removing bacteria build-up in the oral cavity known as biofilm.

このお写真の患者様は、矯正治療後の固定装置を接着していたマテリアルも付着していました。それを除去した後にPMTCを行い、一度でここまできれいになりました。

In this photo, a patient completed orthodontic treatment and after having the device moved, shows the residue from the material that was used to fix the device. After removing the residue and undergoing PMTC, the teeth are noticeably cleaner after one treatment.

次回も引き続きPMTCについて紹介します。

PMTC

PMTCというクリーニングをご存じですか？

Are you familiar with PMTC Cleaning?

Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaningの略で、歯科医師や歯科衛生士による専門的なクリーニングです。PMTCの流れは、汚れの除去➡表面の研磨➡フロス➡トリートメント➡フッ素塗布となります。それぞれの工程にこだわりを持ち、「PMTC」とひとまとめに言っても、様々な効果が期待できるクリーニングとなっています。

An abbreviation for “Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning,” it is the special type of cleaning performed by dentists and oral hygienists.

The process of PMTC consists of removing stains ▶︎ surface polishing ▶︎ dental flossing▶︎ treatment application ▶︎ fluorine coating. Each step of the process has a particular purpose so that collectively, you can expect that “PMTC” cleanings will have noticeable results.

当医院ではエアフローと呼ばれる特別な機械で歯面の着色や膜汚れを落とします。

Our clinic utilizes a special device called Airflow to remove discoloration and stains on the surface of teeth.

上の写真の患者様は10年ぶりのクリーニングでした。

見た目も白くきれいになりましたが、表面もツルツルになりました。表面をツルツルに保つことにより、虫歯菌、歯周病菌も寄せ付けにくい口腔内環境を作ることができます。

The patient in this photo had a PMTC cleaning performed which was the first cleaning in over 10 years.

The appearance of the teeth became noticeable whiter, and the surface is much smoother. By maintaining a smooth surface, you can create an oral environment which prevents cavities and bacterial build-up.
