PMTC(Cleaning)

前回紹介したPMTC（Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning）の各工程について、詳しく紹介していこうと思います。

PMTCの流れは、汚れの除去➡表面の研磨➡フロス➡トリートメント➡フッ素塗布となります。

In a series of posts, we are going to introduce in detail, each of the steps that go into Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning (PMTC). The five steps of PMTC are removing stains → surface polishing → dental floss → treatment application → fluorine coating.

今回は汚れの除去についてです。当医院では、エアフローと呼ばれる特別な機械で歯面の着色や膜汚れを落とします。ブラシと強い研磨剤を使用して落としていく一般的な保険のクリーニングとは違い、極力歯面を傷つけず行う点がエアフローの特徴です。

For this post, we will focus on the first step, removing stains.
At our clinic, a specialized instrument called Airflow is used to remove stains and discoloration from the surface of teeth. Unlike regular cleanings using strong abrasives and brushes, Airflow is capable of cleaning without damaging the surface of the tooth.

細かなパウダーを強力なジェット水流で歯に吹き付けるので、歯面の茶渋などの汚れはもちろん、細菌のかたまりであるバイオフィルムも隅々まで除去することができます。

Fine powder together with the pressure of water spray is used to remove stains on the surface of teeth, in addition to removing bacteria build-up in the oral cavity known as biofilm.

このお写真の患者様は、矯正治療後の固定装置を接着していたマテリアルも付着していました。それを除去した後にPMTCを行い、一度でここまできれいになりました。

In this photo, a patient completed orthodontic treatment and after having the device moved, shows the residue from the material that was used to fix the device. After removing the residue and undergoing PMTC, the teeth are noticeably cleaner after one treatment.
